Evicting illegal shops on footpaths

IF the two city corporations of the capital can evict street hawkers permanently, it will be a great relief for us as illegal shops and street hawkers constantly create hindrance to pedestrian movement and cause perennial jam. The city corporations occasionally take a drive or two to evict the street hawkers but a section of politically influential people stand in their way. It is high time that the city corporations should be determined to resist the influential quarters and evict the shops and hawkers from the footpaths. The city corporations must not stop their drive mid-way, as they have been doing in the past. We need to transform our cities to a level befitting the twenty first century.
